Etymology: Hokkien chiong, 'hurry' or 'rush'. Mandarin, chong (冲) 'rush' ; 'charge'.
Though no record has been found on the first case of this word being used, the popularity of the word is evident from the online social media sites. It is used primarily by Singaporean youngsters, especially students.
